Tonja Dausend is a mobile instructor and trainer. She
has trained horses professionally for over 25 years but
she has ridden all of her life. Her family has raised
horses for many generations. She began retraining
problem horses and starting young horses at a very early
age. Tonja now takes advantage of opportunities to
improve her horsemanship skills as often as possible.
She has worked with various international instructors in
the USA and Germany. She has participated in numerous
seminars and USDF instructor programs, as well as
attending the "L" Education Program for Judges Training.
She and her students have shown Dressage, Hunt Seat and
Western successfully on the local, regional and national
levels. Tonja’s main interest is classical riding - the
art of enhancing harmony between horse and rider. She is
currently studying classical riding and attends clinics
with Erik Herbermann (author of the timeless
masterpiece, Dressage Formula and the recently
						released, A Horseman’s Notes).

Clear communication is important in teaching and
training. Her goal, as a classical rider, is to
thoughtfully develop maximum results with the horse
using the smallest of aids. She carries these same
principals into her teaching by explaining the complex
concepts of horsemanship in a constructive, positive
						way.
